This Birmingham security front doors project stands as a powerful testament to longevity, craftsmanship, and material integrity. Installed over six and a half years ago, this heavy duty security front door in Birmingham remains a striking feature of the property, serving not only as a showroom piece, but also as a working entrance exposed daily to the British climate. Its appearance today tells a story of considered engineering and uncompromising finishing standards.
The design itself is unmistakably bold. A bespoke circular security door, finished in a deep high-gloss black, forms a dramatic contrast against the classical brick facade and stone portico. At its centre sits an octagonal statement door knob, anchoring the geometry of the design and reinforcing its architectural presence. Even years on, the proportions, gloss level, and detailing remain crisp and defined.
What makes this project exceptional, however, lies beneath the surface. To achieve this level of durability, these bespoke doors in Birmingham were manufactured using Medite Tricoya Extreme engineered timber panels, specifically selected for their outstanding dimensional stability and resistance to moisture and movement. These panels form the foundation of a door designed not just to look exceptional at handover, but to perform for decades.
The finishing process was equally meticulous. Multiple coats, typically two to three layers of high-performance polyurethane paint, were applied to fully seal and protect the timber. This was followed by a high-gloss lacquer system, built up slowly and carefully in our factory environment. The final lacquer process alone can take up to two full days to complete, allowing each layer to cure correctly and ensuring a depth of finish that resists fading, micro-cracking, and surface degradation over time.
Today, more than six years after installation, the result speaks for itself. This bespoke front door in Birmingham retains its mirror-like sheen, sharp detailing, and solid presence - proof that a truly bespoke security door, when engineered and finished correctly, can age gracefully while maintaining both its aesthetic impact and protective performance.
