Set within one of Kensington’s most distinguished addresses, this security door project at Phillimore Gardens in West London required a careful and considered approach. The brief was to deliver a bespoke high-security front door that would sit seamlessly within an established architectural setting, where consistency and proportion are critical.
Designed as a large single security door with solid side panels and a top light, the composition was developed to align precisely with the surrounding façade. In environments such as this, every detail carries weight. Proportions, sightlines, and even the way light reflects across the surface all contribute to whether an entrance feels appropriate.
The door is finished in a deep high-gloss lacquer, chosen to match the tone and character of neighbouring properties. The reflective quality of the finish enhances the architectural lines, while reinforcing the sense of depth and precision across the elevation.
Delivered in collaboration with Bancroft Heath, the project focused on achieving balance. The entrance needed to feel modern in its performance while remaining entirely classical in appearance. The result is a security door that integrates effortlessly into its surroundings, maintaining the rhythm of the street without drawing unnecessary attention.
Beneath its refined exterior, the door is fully engineered as a high-performance security system, providing the level of protection expected for a property of this calibre. The success of the project lies in this balance. Security that performs quietly, without disrupting the visual harmony of the façade.
